Candi and the School Bus Scrapbook Layout

Hello!  Last week was a busy week and no time for creating anything new.  I came across a challenge from Bimini Moose and would like to play along.  The challenge allows for layouts from the past and present and my layout is from the past.

Some time after we adopted our rescue dog, Candi, and well into the school year, our daily dog walks coincided with the afternoon bus schedule.  What happened was the bus would drive by us, Candi would go crazy – chasing the bus (as much as she could with me holding onto her leash!),  jumping up, then jumping and bouncing in circles at the same time, barking like crazy.  It was a sight and this went on for a month or two.  One day, when the bus passed us, Candi started to act up, but something different happened…the bus stopped.  Candi was so shocked because now she couldn’t be “ferocious”, so she stopped, too!  A window on the bus opened and one of the kids threw out 2 dog treats, then the bus went on its way.  This went on for the remainder of the school year, but shortly after they started giving treats, I made a thank you card (text included on layout) and we talked to the bus driver.  The kids loved watching Candi and looked forward to seeing her everyday – they even nicknamed her “Spaz”.  It was such a fun situation that I did a layout when I made a mini album following Candi’s first year with us.

The layout is pretty simple – I don’t recall the name of the papers used or bus and buttons, but I used the Cricut Cartridge, Makin the Grade.  I also used the wavy paper cutter from Creative Memories.

Please feel free to leave comments and thank you for looking!

  1. What a sweet story and lovely layout! I love how you included the paper bus and the sentiment from the thank you card 🙂 Thanks so much for joining us at Bimini Moose! DT Karla
