Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas 2017 #2

Hello!  I’m back with my 2nd entry for the 12 Tags of Christmas challenge sponsored by Linda Coughlin and you can see her gorgeous tag here.   Click here for all of the information regarding the challenge.  I also have links to Linda’s blog and store on my sidebar.

It was love at first sight with Linda’s 2nd tag!  It’s so elegant, I just love it.  I was completely inspired by her theme and made a card.

I decided to use my TH Rosette stencil for the background…it’s a new favorite.  Since I was using the awesome Santa from the new TH Christmas Classic stamp set, I wanted my background to have a vintage look.   I used my jar of Wendy Vecchi crackle embossing paste which I’ve had for a few years and it’s starting to get a little dried out.  It didn’t completely crackle, and after drying, pieces started falling off – that could be because I didn’t apply gesso to my paper first.  Oh well, it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t run into some kind of issue – LOL.  I kept going and first added the lightest color of gold to the background from my set of Finetec Metallics watercolors, then added some of the darker colors.  It’s so shimmery but hard to capture in a pic.

I used Ranger Fine Gold embossing powder for my Santa, and then cut it out with my set of Spellbinders Oppulent Ovals.  I gave it the same coloring treatment as the background.  Both of my ribbons are from the TH Metallic Trimmings from a few years back.

My sweet sister, Gail, gave me a box of beautiful Anna Griffin gold flourishes and I just had to add a few to my card.  Thanks, sis, they are the perfect addition!!

My little Santa charm is from my stash, and the snowflake is TH.  Both were silver until I applied Ranger alcohol ink (Mushroom).  I also added a little white gesso, which isn’t really noticeable.  I also used Clear Rock Candy distress glitter to the snowflake for a frosty look.

I didn’t leave much room for a sentiment, so just stamped “Magic” from the same stamp set and tucked it in under the bow.  I think that’s it.  Thanks for stopping by!!

There is so much to love here Marty! My jaw is on the floor!!! I always find that my crackle falls off. Sara Emily seals hers with some sort of cheapy sealer by DecoArt, so ask her what that’s called. I just go with the chippy look as if it’s meant to be! Ha! I just love this stencil and how you used the decorative oval die for the Santa. The simple stamped tag is perfect and lets your beautiful charms show off! How pretty are they! Love this wonderful make my friend. Hugs, Autumn
