Hello! It’s my turn to host at Words2CraftBy this month. Our words are taken from one of my favorite Christmas movies, “A Christmas Carol.”

You can make any Christmas-themed project for our challenge. I made a simple layered card:
Sometimes you just need to make a quick and easy card and this was basically made from scraps. I started with my focal image, the Santa from the Tim Holtz “Letters to Santa” stamp set (love the vintage Santa images!). I stamped on paper with a little bit of texture, inked the edges with Vintage Photo DI, and colored the holly berries with Christmas Red Stickles. The layer below that was a scrap – I believe that’s Bo Bunny. The jingle bells border was embossed on gold metallic Kraft-Core (TH collection) with an Anna Griffin embossing folder/border, then sanded. I don’t know the name of the folder because I bought it at a scrapbook store garage sale. I used the full-sized folder on the red paper that’s peaking out underneath the other layers. Textured green cardstock was used for the card base.
My sentiment is from the TH “Crazy Talk” stamp set. I stamped, embossed my little tag with the jingle bells EF, inked with Vintage Photo DI and added clear Wink of Stella around the edges. My bow was scrap ribbon to which I added a jingle bell.

Marty, you sure do know how to put your scraps to use! Your Santa card is gorgeous; I love the traditional colors and the simple way you’ve adorned that gorgeous Santa image.The sanded bells panel perfectly balances the real bell on the pretty shabby bow. Great card–you still reign as the Card Making Queen! Hugs!

This may be a simple card for you, but the impact is huge! What a beautiful design. That tiny Just Believe tag is most amazing with the bell & bow! I like this image uncolored or stamped in color best, because I’ve seen some strangely tinted creations – tee hee. 🙂 I really love your use of the metallic kraft core with the amazing/ornate bell EF. This is so beautiful with a vintage flair and that great Santa image! I love the embossing, layering, and especially the touch of gold but the jingle bell sealed the deal for me 🙂

What a fabulous Santa card! I love how it has a nostalgic rustic feel, yet those metallic portions keep it looking so fresh and vibrant. I also liked how you added such clever little details like the berries on Santa’s holly crown. Great job on a lovely piece of art and I’m so glad you shared it with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
