Letters to Santa

Hello!  I recently received some happy mail from my buddy, Sara Emily (thank you!!), and she sent me some goodies that I could use to enter the current challenge at Frilly and Funkie, “By Airmail”.  I’m almost down to the wire, so in the essence of time, this post will be mostly pictures.

I was inspired by Sara Emily’s awesome folio and I didn’t want to make a card, so I decided to make a folio, too, and used this easy-to-follow tutorial.  I was drawn to this video because of the Authentique paper she used.

Several years ago, my sister gave me a Christmas paper pad which also has a postal theme (Christmas on Amesbury Street by Paper Studio).  I have been hoarding it all this time just waiting for the right project.  Almost everything else I used are Tim Holtz products.  Since I don’t have time to list everything, please email me if you have questions.  At this point, I’m posting pics in order of the book, including some close-ups.

The back cover is the same as the front, so I’m not adding pictures.  Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy 4th of July holiday!

I also want to play along with the Mini Album Makers Challenge,

This is a gorgeous album, loaded with festive Christmas pages, fun flaps, tags and pockets, oh my! I am squealing at each and every detail, and I especially LOVE the note to Santa! May all your Christmas wishes come true! I am delighted to see you were able to weave those goodies into your album, and I’m so excited to see the airmail envelope and Western Union ticket peeking out there, too. Well done, you! I am soooo thankful you shared this with us at Frilly and Funkie–it is PERFECT for our By Airmail challenge and so perfectly made! Hugs and Happy 4th of July!

  6. My dear Marty, I had to start all over again and soak up the details a second time after first viewing your lovely post. You’ve filled my heart with Christmas cheer this morning and satisfied my grungy soul with vintage goodness. 🙂 This is ABSOLUTELY a wonderful album with the most incredible paper. The kind I can truly understand wanting to hoard! ;0 I do love how you add your Tim Holtz touches to everything you do. That “distress” quality is really remarkable. The ephemera from SE is truly beautiful in this setting and I’m just so happy to see you make another album for us at Mini Album Makers and that you could play at F&F! Thanks so much my friend! Biggest hugs to you today, Autumn PS. I enjoyed reading the other comments too, all echoing my love for this album!
