Hello, time for another Tim tag…click here to see Tim’s cool tag. Here’s my version (which was not easy to photograph!):
I followed Tim’s techniques as much as possible with the supplies I had on hand. For my background, I used the Gilded Christmastime rub-ons in gold (love them!), and then added the following distress stains: Brushed Pewter as the primary color with some Antique Linen and very little Tea Dye. I inked around the edges with Vintage Photo.
I used snowflakes from the Paper Snowflakes thinlit die set and the mini set, and cut them out using double-sided adhesive. Next, I added Ranger gold and silver foil, and then dipped it in my jar of Vintage Platinum Glitter Dust to cover any remaining sticky spots. I really like how it turned out – it’s hard to see the distinctions in the photos above, but more noticeable in the close-up photos. I haven’t been able to find any of Tim’s baubles locally, so I used a gold pearl from my stash to complete the snowflake.
I cut out the word “snow” using my 3/4″ Alphanumeric dies, and the snowflake is from the Mini Paper Snowflakes set. I added just a little Picket Fence paint to the corrugate and even some crazing, but not much, and some silver foil. I added some Picket Fence to my Christmas token.
To finish, I added Metallic trimmings in gold and silver (tinsel), and a snowflake adornment that I didn’t alter because I liked the contrast with the gold.
Thanks for stopping by! Please feel free to leave comments, and have a Happy Thanksgiving 🙂
